Who we are
Sinners saved by God's Grace
We are the Cooley family serving as Church planting missionaries to the Northwest USA. We identify with Independent Baptist Churches, hold to the King James Bible for English speaking people, and seek to maintain a separatist stand in this present evil world. It is our desire to remain militant against the apostasy, yet magnificent for the Lord. To be militant in one's stand is to recognize that we are in a spiritual warfare with the world, the flesh, and the Devil every day of our lives! We must take God's Word seriously, and be good soldiers of the Lord Jesus Christ and earnestly contend for the faith once delivered unto the saints (1 Tim. 1:18-20; 2 Tim. 2:1-4; Jude 3). It is our desire to honor the Lord and His precious written Word in these last days.
We are sent out from the Harriman Baptist Tabernacle under the leadership of Pastor Clint Boyer, located in Harriman, TN. We also serve with Macedonia World Baptist Missions, and are thankful for how they assist missionaries and local churches in reaching the world with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Benjamin was born again August 9, 1994:"I can recall the service and the message that night. The Lord took the Scriptures and revealed to me that night that I was lost and needed to be saved. I went forward during the invitation and received the Lord Jesus Christ as my Savior. I can’t remember all I said, but I will never forget what my attitude toward the Lord was that night – “I didn’t want my sin, but I sure wanted Jesus.” I’m glad He didn’t cast me out or turn me away. I was scripturally baptized by immersion shortly thereafter in obedience to our Lord and added to the local church membership of Harriman Baptist Tabernacle. In November of 1995, the Lord convinced me of His call for me to preach the Gospel and I immediately surrendered and began preaching the Word of God."
Carrie was born again in the year 1996: "At the age of seven I became a Christian. From the preaching and teaching of God’s Word at church, in Sunday School, and at vacation Bible School, God began to convict me of my sinfulness and need of salvation. At home, I asked the Lord to become my Savior. Ever since that day I have strived to please and follow Him. I was baptized through immersion to show what the Lord had done in my life."
Why we are
We are what we are by the Grace of God, and only because of Him
"For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen." (Romans 11:36 KJV)
Our lives are only because of Him, and therefore anything accomplished will be through Him, and furthermore it is all to Him and for Him. May God alone receive the glory! To God always be the glory! Yea, to God be all the glory!
"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created." (Revelation 4:11 KJV)
Our lives are to be lived in the Reverence of God's Person and with the Remembrance of God's Pleasure. We must maintain a personal walk with the Lord knowing that we were created for His pleasure. It is certainly a pleasure for the Christian to know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior! Should not our lives then render pleasure back unto Him?
